Scope

What the commission can include

A commission may bring together exterior approaches, interior movement and amenity sequences, with titles, narration and sound where they support the explanation. The duration and versions required for a sales presentation, website or campaign should be established before the sequence is developed.

Project information

Preparing the brief

Production begins with the available drawings or models, an agreed account of the project and the information that each sequence must communicate. Material references, landscape details and any supplied branding or narration should be identified early enough to inform the storyboard.

Review

Reviewing the work before delivery

The storyboard and camera sequence provide the first opportunity to assess orientation, pacing and coverage before detailed rendering. Later reviews address the represented design, lighting and final edit, with changes assessed against the approved sequence.

Cost and timing

What determines the production requirement

Duration alone does not determine the production requirement: the number of distinct environments, complexity of movement, source-model quality and delivery versions also affect cost and timing. A shorter film involving several new environments may require more preparation than a longer sequence within an established model.

Interpreting the presentation

The film presents a selected route through the proposal, so it should be accompanied by plans or an interactive presentation when the audience needs to compare areas that the sequence does not show.
