Scope

What the commission can include

Relevant work includes road corridors, junctions, underpasses and the relationship between surface design and underground utilities. Views are selected around the engineering information that needs explanation, with sufficient surrounding context to show how the proposal relates to its location.

Project information

Preparing the brief

Preparation requires current engineering drawings, alignment and level information, relevant utility details and an agreed account of the proposal. The project team should identify who can confirm technical accuracy and which aspects of the design remain subject to change.

Review

Reviewing the work before delivery

Technical reviewers should confirm geometry, level relationships and the represented movement before presentation details are finalised. The visual sequence or view set can then be assessed for whether a non-specialist audience can follow the proposal without losing essential context.

Cost and timing

What determines the production requirement

The geographical extent, source-data quality, number of systems to be shown and required presentation formats determine the production requirement. A clearly bounded area and agreed review responsibilities help establish a realistic delivery programme.

Interpreting the presentation

The visual material supports explanation of the proposal and should not be treated as engineering verification, construction instruction or evidence of regulatory approval.
